Dear Longfellow Parents,
Please consider supporting the Longfellow School Library in a new fundraiser.
Starting on February 21, 2012 and ending on June 10, 2012, we’re having an online Titlewish fundraiser.
100% of the money we raise will go directly to purchasing new materials for our school library.
We’re asking you to participate and help us raise $300-$500. We’re going to
use this money to purchase eBooks for our school. Whatever money we raise, Follett will add 10% to that amount.
To help us meet our goal, please visit http://www.titlewish.com/100858
and click the Donate button.
Thank you for helping us provide Longfellow Elementary School's students with the best education possible!

Mrs. Wandsneider's class was awarded the Grand Prize in the Scholastic Bookfairs book writing contest. They won in the fiction category for their book titled What Does the X-Ray Say?
This is an annual nationwide book contest. The number of entries around the nation varies from year to year, but is anywhere between 1,000 – 5,000 entries. Their book is a black and white rhyming story about what X-rays reveal. Scholastic had this to say about the book:
"This reassuring tale will ease young readers’ anxiety over doctor visits and x-rays as a little girl imagines some other fascinating (and funny) examples of when x-rays might be needed."
Book Fairs around the entire nation. This is the 10th year that Mrs. Wandsneider's classes have entered this contest, and this is the first time that they have won the GRAND PRIZE! In the past her classes have been awarded 4 honorable mentions.
The 17 2nd grade students in Mrs. Wandsneider's class illustrated and wrote the entire book. As a result of winning, they will receive $5,000 in Scholastic merchandise as well as 100 copies of their published book. The book will be published and available at ALL Scholastic Book Fairs.
Mrs. Wandsneider's class appeared live on the Just Tony show on Fox 6. Check it out:
